Public Professional Bio
I received my Bachelor of Health Sciences in Midwifery (with distinction) from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson) in 2019. I then spent my first year as a Registered Midwife practicing at Community Midwives of Toronto, a busy full-scope downtown practice, before deciding to move back West to pursue more rural midwifery in Medicine Hat. My passions are empowering womxn through birth and postpartum education, advocating for equity and family centred care in health systems, and pursuing excellence in clinical skills and client safety.
Prior to becoming a midwife, I completed a combined Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Kinesiology degree (with distinction) at the University of Calgary in 2011. I worked as a Registered Nurse in both pediatric and neonatal care units in Alberta before moving to Toronto, Ontario to pursue midwifery. I maintain my RN license alongside my RM license and enjoy backpacking, roller derby (Derby Name: Midwife Crisis) and walking my golden retriever, Gus, along the river.
